Crain Atlantis wascommissioned to perform design services for $10 million demolition andreplacement for Parkway Middle School, a 250,000 SF 28 building campusoriginally built in 1958. Drawings for 100% construction documents have beendelivered and Crain Atlantis is concurrently assisting the School District ofBroward County on cost evaluation and design options for a new two-story,33,000 SF building that will replace existing buildings. The new building willbe the main access to the school and will provide a new administration, mediacenter, ESE classrooms and fine arts areas for a highly secured schoolfacility.

Crain Atlantis is the Architect and Engineer of Record for Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection disciplines. Our in-house architectural, engineering and field team assisted the School District of Broward County with the evaluation of the general condition of the school infrastructure, the building adequacy to the current educational programs and the inherent operational efficiencies of the existing facility. The existing facility required evaluation/design of over 50 HVAC systems, campus-wide mechanical and power distribution for 23 buildings, site planning, Castaldi review and evaluation, energy saving, roofing design for 19 buildings, including design of neoconceptual building for administration, staff and students. Crain Atlantis is also responsible for assisting the School District in the bidding, award and administration of the construction contract, cost management and warranty administration through substantial completion and project closeout.
